COVID-19

With the current COVID-19 global pandemic we are all faced with challenging times ahead. With the situation changing frequently, we will continue to assess and respond to these changes, because the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, foster carers, clients community and the animals in our care are our top priority.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: From 9am Monday, 27 September 2021 public viewing of animals available for adoption in outdoor enclosures (dogs and small animals) his permitted however, adoptions services remain by appointment.  All animals available for adoption are listed on the below specie specific page of our website. If you're interested in submitting an application for an animal, please complete the appropriate online form. If we think you may be a match, one of our team members will be in touch to arrange an appointment.

When visiting us onsite please ensure that you abide by the recommended density limits per building, wear a fitted face mask in all settings(unless an exemption applies), practice physical distancing at all times, utilise hand sanitising stations located around the site and sign in via the QR code when you arrive.

GAWS receives thousands of animals into care each year and has over 200 animal pens onsite.  Your annual sponsorship supports the animals in your pen by helping cover the costs of veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and all of the care they need during their stay. Annual Pen Pal sponsorship starts at as little as $50 per month.

Adopt

Our main aim when an animal comes into our care is to prepare them for their new life in a forever home. Animals are checked over by a vet, vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and given any treatments they may need.
