Dog Tales - SNAGGLE & SAMPSON

This year, we are sharing the real stories of dogs who have come into the care of GAWS to show how your donations to our Winter Appeal support our cause.

“Hello, we’re a bonded pair of senior dogs – Sampson & Snaggle.

Just as we were reaching our retirement years, our lives changed forever.

A few months ago, our living arrangements were changing so we arrived at GAWS where we were promised to be cared for and eventually rehomed.

We both arrived at GAWS with matted fur and severe dental conditions. We enjoyed a good haircut at GAWS, and thankfully some painful grass seeds were removed at the same time.

We both needed a lot of urgent dental work. We had some teeth removed and Sampson had a jaw operation where a lump was taken out. We feel so much better, pretty much like new dogs! The vets at GAWS are wonderful. We’ve also received all of the medical essentials like vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.

Once all of our procedures were done and we were nursed to good health at GAWS, we arrived in a foster home. We are living the best life. Our foster mum takes us for lots of walks, sometimes in a pram as our legs can get a bit tired. We’re given all the essentials we need to thrive; food, water bedding, toys and so much love.

There is a cat here called Nuggi who also came from GAWS. We are the three best friends now. We secretly hope we can stay here forever.

At 10 and 12 years old, we might be a bit older but we still have a lot of energy and love to give. GAWS has gone to such a big effort to ensure we are healthy and happy, and to give us a second chance to enjoy our final years.”
