Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) (ABN 67 005 093 756) is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC) and is located at 325 Portarlington Road, Moolap, Victoria 3224. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information and complying with the obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).

We collect personal information about employees, members, donors, volunteers, foster carers, supporters, consultants and third party service providers as well as people adopting and reclaiming animals that have come into our care. Personal information collected may include an individual’s names, addresses, email address, telephone number, dates of birth, accounting and financial information, taxation details, records of previous support and donations.

Generally, we collect information from you directly. This occurs when you deal directly with us in person, over the phone, via email, in writing, via appeals, online via website, our online store, or via our social media channels.
3. How is your personal information used?
Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) will use and disclose your personal information in order to provide our services, including council registrations, processing of donations, compliance with our legal obligations, recruitment of staff and volunteers, maintenance of our records in order to manage and provide our services.
Unless you request we not contact you we may use your information to ask for support and keep you up-to-date with our work made possible by our supporter’s corporate sponsors and donors. Without your personal information we could not communicate with you or issue donation receipts.

We may use and disclose your personal information in connection with marketing communications, events and fundraising campaigns. This may include communications relating to Geelong Animal Welfare Society appeals, events, programs, promotions, fundraising opportunities and updates.
