If your dog or cat goes missing it may make its way to GAWS where we will provide the necessary care until it can be reclaimed. We will do everything we can to try and locate owners. Microchipping and council registration, as well as having identification details on your pet's collar are the best way to ensure we can contact you as soon as possible.

In accordance with the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) Code of Practice, every animal is health checked as well as vaccinated, treated for fleas and wormed as soon as possible upon arrival.

We hold animals for a period of eight days before they are behaviour and health assessed and if suitable moved into our shelter program for adoption. There are a range of fees that apply when reclaiming your pet.
